person is given the gift of time on this earth to
live, to learn, to love, and to leave a legacy.
Gerry's life ended on February 2nd, 2015 at the age
of 77. It was much to soon but his legacy lives on.
We married June 20th 1959. We were blessed with one
daughter, one son and six grand children.
retired in 1993 after 37 successful years at Boeing.
We had a small farm in
SeaTac, Washington. In 1988, we purchased our 1st
llama as a pet and it grew from there. We moved to
Montana in 1994 to pursue ranching. After trying our
hand at raising llamas, donkeys, yaks, goats,
ostriches, a couple of cows, a horse and alpacas, we
finely decided on just llamas and alpacas.
Gerry loved Montana, his llamas, alpacas and the
llama community. He loved a good laugh and
practiced it whenever he could. His playfulness and
humor were enjoyed by all he touched. He will be
I loved him and miss him to
the moon and back.
Gerry and I worked very hard to disperse the herd by selling, trading and giving away many llamas during the past three years. We made a lot of headway but didn't quite meet our goals.
Gerry was in tremendous pain for the last few years but
always moved ahead with the attitude of his glass is half
full. He always wanted me to do the same.
With that said, I am going to go ahead and stay on the
ranch with a small herd while I figure out how to disperse
of the ranch, the llamas, the alpacas and the ranch
equipment. I hope to accomplish this in the next couple of
years so I can truly retire.
